VASCO: A Portuguese national was arrested after he “mistakenly” set fire to a car belonging to a New Vaddem, Vasco resident, thinking it to be his uncle’s vehicle.
According to Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo, 29-year-old Anthonio Pinto, a Portuguese national and a resident of Cuncolim has been placed under arrest for setting fire to a Wagon R car belonging to a New Vaddem resident.
“We had registered a case at Vasco Police Station wherein Wagon R car was set on fire. Initially, we had arrested one Sangamesh in the case. However, during course of investigation Sangamesh disclosed Pinto’s role in the act,” Raposo informed. “Sangamesh disclosed that Pinto had brought him to New Vaddem and had set fire to the Wagon R car and fled from the site.”
Upon interrogation, it was revealed that Pinto is related to a Vasco resident in whose compound wall; the said Wagon R car belonging to a neighbour was parked. Suspecting that the said car belongs to his uncle, the accused set it on fire along with Sangamesh. We have arrested Pinto under various Sections of IPC and investigation is in progress,” Raposo added.
