PANJIM: As many as 30 sports persons participating in the ongoing National Games have suffered injuries so far and are being treated at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
According to a senior official of the GMC, of the 30 sports persons, three were admitted to the hospital and of them, one was operated on.

Bharat Chauhan (27), a rugby player from Maharashtra team, had to be operated at the State-run hospital for injuries he sustained on October 25.
The other two players admitted to the hospital were Biswa Varghese (26), a weight lifting player from Kerala and Soham Shirodkar (25), a rugby player from Goa.
A special ward has been set up at the GMC to cater to the needs of the National Games 2023.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Govind Gaude on Thursday paid a visit to the hospital and met the players admitted in the hospital. He interacted with them and assured them of all possible help.
Gaude told media persons that all the players participating in the event will be taken care of by the State government.
