The demolition squad led by Joint Mamlatdar Pravin Parab demolished nine illegal structures at Arradi-Candolim on Thursday.
The demolition squad from the office of Block Development Officer led by Joint Mamlatdar Pravin Parab, Candolim Panchayat Secretary Eknath Talkar, Candolim Sarpanch Anand Shettigar, Deputy Sarpanch Sandra Fialho, ward member Blaise Fernandes besides other government officials demolished nine illegal structures at Arradi.
Calangute police force was present in large number to oversee the demolition. No untoward incident was reported.
According to sources, Candolim panchayat had identified 20 illegal structures at Arradi and had intimated the BDO for its demolition. The remaining illegal structures will be demolished in due course of time.
