The adjourned Anjuna Caisua Panchayat gram sabha was held on Sunday even as the Secre tary Rui Cardozo, once again failed to attend. Undeterred, villagers raised key issues and sought answers from the panchayat body, despite a modest turnout. Local resident Pradeep Harmalkar questioned the panchayat’s involvement in the Kumbharwaddo “illegal” road widening case. A reso lution was proposed to file a police complaint against those undertaking the illegal activities, which Chimulkar agreed to pursue. Regarding the secre tary’s repeated absence, Chimulkar said he was un aware, prompting villagers to demand Cardozo’s trans fer and urged the Sarpanch to take the matter to higher authorities. As in the previous ses sion, an outside secretary was deputed by the Bardez BDO, with Assagao secre tary Raghuvir Bagkar act ing for the gram sabha this time. Ramesh Naik sought clarifications on the previ ous minutes and the 2025 26 financial statements, noting that his suggestions were omitted. Chimulkar assured that these issues would be reviewed. Sagar Bhosle highlighted the problem of stray cattle and urged the construction of a cattle pound. Chimulkar also noted the persistence of about 12 “black spots” where garbage is dumped and said cameras would be installed by next month.
