Dr Desai informed that as of Wednesday, the active cases in Canacona have risen steadily from less than 50 a couple of weeks ago to 114, while 202 people have been infected with the Corona virus till date in the taluka.

Dr Desai said that while treatment is recommended, 90 percent of these asymptomatic cases have opted for home isolation, whereas about 10 percent patients have been admitted to different COVID hospitals across Goa.

“Our doctors call the patients who have opted for home isolation on their phones to check the improvements in the health of the patients, also they are asked to report the health parameters on a daily basis”, CHC sources informed.

Looking at the increasing number of cases across most villages of the taluka since last week, the locals are voicing their concerns and are of the opinion that a week of lockdown will put a break on the rising number of cases in the taluka.
