VASCO: On Friday, the South Goa Collector took a decision to declare another area from Vasco town as a containment zone. This takes the total of containment zones in Vasco to four.
This time, Kharewado, from where fresh COVID cases were detected recently, has been sealed as a containment zone. These cases included local elected representatives.

It may be recalled that Mangor Hill, Sada ward four and Baina have been declared as containment zones earlier.
Meanwhile, Mormugao Deputy Collector, Sachin Dessai informed reporters that the existing bed capacity in the MPT hospital where COVID patients are being admitted is 162; and that this number is likely to be increased to 180. Efforts in that regard are underway, he added.
