VASCO: A second person reportedly involved in a recent assault at New-Vaddem was arrested by Vasco police on Tuesday evening. The arrested person Maruti Harijan has also been remanded in police custody for three days.

Vasco police said that they have already arrested Akeek Shaikh in connection with the assault case.
Harijan was arrested from New-Vaddem on Monday night.
Mehboob Shaikh, the prime accused in this case, is still at large. It may be recalled that Mehboob Shaikh along with Akeek and Maruti had allegedly assaulted Manoj Magadum and Muttappa Harijan with a sword, causing them grievous bodily injuries.
The crime was committed near Chamundeshwari Temple at Housing Board Colony New-Vaddem. Police had later registered an offence under Sections 504, 307 read with Section 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act.
Police Sub-Inspector Pramila Fernandes is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Rane.
