VASCO: A 35-year-old man from Arlem-Margao died in a road accident near the Banda Cross at Cortalim late Sunday evening.
According to Verna police, Ayappa Bedmand was proceeding on his motorcycle from Cortalim towards Margao, when he was knocked down by a car (GA-06-E-1985), which was proceeding from Margao towards Cortalim.
Police said the collision was such that both vehicles landed in the field and Ayappa was critically injured. He was later shifted to the GMC, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Following an autopsy, the body was later handed over to the family of the deceased for final rites. Verna Police have registered an offence against the car driver Pasoale Fernandes of Vasco and are investigating the case.
