MARGAO: South Goa District Magistrate and ZP Election Officer, Dr Sachin Shinde has prohibited the assembly of five or more persons after campaigning ends at 5 pm on Monday till the time polling ends on Wednesday, warning that such an assembly will be deemed as unauthorised under Section 141 of the IPC. He said the authorities will prohibit unauthorised assemblies to avoid procession or rally under the garb of house-to-house visits or corner meetings and to prevent any nuisance and law and order problems.
In an order issued on Sunday, Dr Shinde further said that vehicles permitted to all the contesting candidates by the Returning Officer for campaigning shall not ply on roads.
