BORIM: Ponda police on Saturday arrested a 33-year-old man from Banda-Sawantwadi in connection with a misappropriation case registered in 2012.
According to Ponda police, a company from Bethora had accused Devu Shiva Sawal of misappropriating Rs 5.9 lakh, while he worked as the deputy in-charge of the firm and was entrusted the work of billing and other duties.
Ponda police said the misappropriation case against Sawal was filed on October 13, 2012 and subsequently, the accused had moved a bail application before the Mapusa court. The bail application was rejected and since then, the accused was absconding from the police.
On receiving information that the accuse was sighted at his native place in Banda, a police team comprising PSI Rajaram Gaonkar and two police constables went to Banda and nabbed him.
Ponda Police is investigating the case.
