The daring daylight burglary occurred when owner Sannama had gone out for work, only to find her house burgled with the burglars decamping with gold ornaments and cash, all worth over Rs one lakh.
Sannama said the burglars effected entry into her house in her absence on Thursday morning and decamped with cash and gold ornaments, including her necklace, earrings and bangles.Locals told Herald that the police came to the spot half an hour after the incident was reported to the police control room. When a policeman from the Colva police station finally reached the spot, he said that the area falls under the Margao police station.
