Calangute sees mad rush of tourists

CALANGUTE: While there is no carnival parade along the Calangute-Candolim coast, tourism operators and event organisers along the coast have geared up to reap the benefits of the popular four-day festival that emphasises on fun, frolic and fiesta.

With the tourism department all set to organise Carnival festival across the State, the coastal belt of Calangute has witnessed a mad rush of domestic tourists for the weekend.
A large number of vehicles have been seen proceeding towards Calangute and Candolim. While revellers are expected to attend the carnival parades in the evenings, many of them have planned to attend music festivals and night parties along the Calangute-Candolim coast.
A two-day Microsoft Vfest 2015, touted as the biggest ever youth festival of India, is underway at the Baga grounds, with popular DJs like Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurana, Mika Singh and Shilpa Rao performing on the stage.
Besides, there are many other music shows in night clubs and hotels in the area. 
Meanwhile, a Valentine Nite Dine & Dance is arranged at Hotel Goan Heritage, Gaura Vaddo, Calangute, on Feb 16.
