Cash stolen

Cash amounting to Rs 51,000 went missing from the locker of a bottling company at Verna Industrial Estate, Verna, on Tuesday.
According to Verna police, since the factory was closed on Tuesday due to Gudi Padwa holiday, the incident came to light on Wednesday morning when a factory official, who resumed his duty, found cash missing from the locker. The complainant has suspected the involvement of a security guard, who is also reported to be missing after the incident.
Police said the security guard, who had the keys, has been missing after the incident. Verna police has registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 IPC and is investigating the case.
