Speaking to
Herald, CCP Mayor, Surendra Furtado said “I have written the letter to the PWD
as it is the right forum to give us a technical report because I don’t want
this episode to be like Ruby constructions, so the right forum is the PWD
building division”

“I don’t
understand why CCP Commissioner went with the ex-Panjim MLA and
ex-vice-chairman of GSIDC to inspect the site, it looks like GSIDC has given
the contract to Gera Constructions” said Furtado

Further the
CCP Mayor has requested the PWD building division to inspect the foundation and
plans of the building being constructed by Geraon immediate basis to find out
whether the said firm has taken all required measures and steps to protect the
structures surrounding the said building.

“I have
asked for a report in this regard urgently as the stability of the Government
and other buildings in this area is in danger and so remedial measures can be
taken immediately” Furtado added
