CCP yet to frame rules as per Act

PANJIM, JULY 21 The Corporation of the City of Panjim (CCP) is yet to frame rules as per the CCP Act 2000. However government had directed the Corporation on May 11, 2010 to draft separate rules for the CCP and submit for obtaining government approval, disclosed Joaquim Alemao, Minister for Urban Development in his written reply during Question Hour on Wednesday.

The Corporation of the City of Panjim (CCP) is yet to frame rules as per the CCP Act 2000. However government had directed the Corporation on May 11, 2010 to draft separate rules for the CCP and submit for obtaining government approval, disclosed Joaquim Alemao, Minister for Urban Development in his written reply during Question Hour on Wednesday.
Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar who represents Panjim had tabled the question whether various committees of the CCP are elected on proportionate representation.
The CCP has not been able to do so since bye-laws and rules are not framed by it but file has been already moved to take appropriate action to the personnel department, says the minister in his reply.
