Reacting to questions from the media regarding the recent Chimbel Gram Sabha, Rodolfo Fernandes, MLA of St Cruz, said that the main concern of residents appears to be a construction project coming up in the area.
Fernandes stated that, based on what he has heard, people are objecting to the project primarily due to the lack of adequate infrastructure.

He stressed that whenever any new construction is undertaken, essential facilities such as water supply, electricity, and proper road infrastructure must be provided first.
The MLA also questioned how the project received approval and said he had already raised the issue in the Goa Legislative Assembly. According to him, he has demanded that the project be halted in line with the concerns raised by local residents.
