PANJIM: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “copying” his scheme of government-sponsored pilgrimages and using it as his own.
Kejriwal, during his visit to poll-bound Goa on November 1, had announced free government sponsored pilgrimages to the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Ajmer Sharif and Valankanni, once voted to power in 2022 elections.

However, Sawant called Kejriwal as ‘copymaster’ stating that the pilgrimage scheme was announced by his government in the State Budget 2020-21, itself.
“You check by Budget, the scheme is already mentioned there…it is my government scheme…Kejriwal wants to take credit for the scheme, which we have already notified,” Sawant said reacting to the Kejriwal election promise.
“I had announced the scheme in my budget and the scheme is ready too. My scheme is notified too and the registration has also begun for those interested. He (Kejriwal) is basically copying me…he is a copy master…he is habituated to this…,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that government has allocated around Rs 2.5 crore for the scheme called ‘Mukhymantri Devdarshan Scheme’, for senior citizens in association with Indian Railways.
AAP is set to contest the upcoming elections, due in February, 2022 in Goa. Party is preparing itself to fight in all 40 constituencies.
