CM holds meeting with MLA, bureaucrats

PANJIM: After taking over as Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar held his first joint meeting of his party legislative colleagues and bureaucrats on Wednesday trying to bridge the gap between the two.

The meeting came following a series of complaints from ruling MLAs about pending development works in their constituencies. The MLAs pointed out that files were kept pending in various departments over issues related to Town and Country Planning, NOCs from Public Works Department, Water Resources Department and others.
The meeting was attended by all BJP MLAs, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, North and South Goa Collectors, officials from department of TCP, PWD, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation, Water Resources, Power and others.
“Each MLA submitted his development proposals and list of pending works. In most of the cases, departments have to issue work orders,” sources said.
Parsekar directed department heads to expedite the pending proposals and ensure that the files are not kept pending without genuine reasons.
