PANJIM: The delegation of the Save Old Goa Action Committee has appealed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to immediately demolish the illegal bungalow built within the precincts of the world heritage zone at Old Goa, by allegedly flouting all laws.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, they said that the people of Goa are agitated with the various Goa State departments for granting permissions/licenses and approvals fraudulently in the names of Jose Maria De Gouveia Pinto, Suvama Suraj Lotlikar, Corvus Urban Infrastructure to carry out an illegal construction of a new building structure in the protected area at Old Goa.
The delegation demanded immediate demolition of the illegal structure which is allegedly in total violation of all the laws and to order an investigation into the fraud committed by the various State departments. They also urged the Chief Minister to spell out the names and designations of all officers who were party to the fraud and to ensure that disciplinary action is initiated against all the errant officers, as well as the unknown party who has committed a major fraud on the State of Goa.
They also urged the Chief Minister to enquire about the delay and demand an update from the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department on marking the lines demarcating the Protected Area.
