CM urged to help self-employed Goans

MARGAO: Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro on Tuesday requested the Chief Minister to grant sustenance and support to the livelihoods of Goan households who have been adversely affected due to the COVID-19 Pandemic especially the self-employed Goans such as taxi drivers, motorcycle pilots, rickshaw drivers etc.

Luizinho said that COVID-19 Pandemic has taken a severe toll on the Goan economy and has adversely affected the livelihoods of the Goans.

“In this difficult situation, I urge you to ensure sustenance, support and livelihood allowance to self-employed Goans such as taxi drivers, rickshaw drivers, motorcycle pilots etc in order to help them tide over these challenging days which have threatened their households. I strongly feel it is necessary to support them and their families given the present circumstances,” he said.

“The government must consider granting insurance aid, bank installment waiver and such other measures which would go a long way in helping our hardworking Goan brothers.”
