Co-op bank employees to hold dharna
HERALD REPORTER
PANJIM, APRIL 29
All Goa Co-operative Bank Employees Federation (AGCBEF) will hold a dharna opposite Mapusa Urban Co-operative Bank (MUCB) head office at Mapusa protesting against the delay on the part of the management in settling their charter of demands which are pending since 2001.
According to the president Subash Naik Jorge the employees and officers of the bank are facing hardships due to non settlement of charter of demands.
“The management of MUCB has also not released the arrears of the existing benefits that were withdrawn earlier,” Jorge said adding “despite several peaceful agitations the management has still been indifferent.”
He further said that though the financial position of the bank has improved, the bank management is refusing to discuss and resolve grievances of the employees and officers. “This has forced the employees and officers to observe demands week,” he said.
Jorge said the AGCBEF will extend full support to MUCB Employees Union and the MUCB Officers Association in their struggle.
