MARGAO: A signature campaign has been launched comedian John D’Silva demanding him to apologise to all Goan women for maligning their image through his song.
According to Gavi Coutinho from Margao, who has launched the campaign, the petition would be submitted to the Goa State Commission for Women at Panjim and other social organisations like Bailancho Ekvott and Bailancho Manch.
The petition takes objection to his song ‘Kazar Kotai’ and a video of the song has been attached along with the petition.
“Many of us work abroad, while our wives take care of our families. They are the pillars of our families and we can never thank them enough for their selfless contribution. Below is a song by John Dsilva where he says these women have ‘fun’ with other men after their husbands go abroad,” says the signature campaign petition.
“Who gives John the right to generalise and do character assassination of our women? The song filled with filthy double meaning words clearly shows John can go to any extent for name and fame. The song ‘kazar zatai’ by John D’silva targeting wives of men working abroad is in bad taste,” the petition reads as.
Coutinho has demanded through the petition that the song should be taken off with immediate effect and a public apology to be tendered to all women.
