Computer teachers from all over Goa held a meeting to discuss the revised rules of post-graduate diploma in computer and education technology (PGDCET), which are worrying them.
More than 300 teachers, who on Monday met under the banner of All Goa Computer Teacher’s Association (AGCTA) demanded that PGDCET be imparted as on-the-job training and not as a course.
Some of the teachers complained it was becoming difficult for them to attend the course separately after school.
One of the main agendas of the meeting was the discussion on the revised rules of PGDCET training uploaded on the website.
President of AGCTA Nilesh Kavlekar maintained that computer teachers are paid a meager Rs 4,500 as salary with which they have to commute long distances between their schools and the centres offering the courses.
Kavlekar maintained that as per the new rules the training was transformed from a formal pattern of delivery to non-formal pattern without consulting the AGCTA.
