PANJIM: The Congress has termed the scheduled day-long protest by BJP MPs as “drama”, while accusing the saffron party of incessant disruption during the Budget session in Parliament.
All the three BJP MPs – Shripad Naik, Narendra Sawaikar and Vinay Tendulkar – will observe a day-long fast at Azad Maidan on Thursday protesting the disruption of the session by the opposition.
Addressing media persons, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shantaram Naik said the hunger strike by the BJP MPs is drama for people to watch.
“Everyone knows that it is BJP at the Centre that is disrupting Parliament since day one and on the contrary is blaming the opposition Congress,” Naik said.
The former Rajya Sabha MP charged that the Central government has no idea of how to run Parliament. “The session disruption by the BJP is only because (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi cannot face Parliament. He is a good speaker only in public meetings but not in Parliament, where one has to answer to allegations and accusations by the opposition,” he said.
Naik further alleged that the fundamental reason for disruption of the session is that the BJP and RSS feel satisfied with the act as both are fascist and have no faith in parliamentary democracy.
