PORVORIM: Stating that the circular issued by the church had been misinterpreted by the Congress party, Aldona legislator Glen Ticlo claimed the BJP is the most secular party and the minorities have full faith in the party.
“The circular issued by the church had been misinterpreted by Congress party. The church has appealed the people to vote for good governance,” said Ticlo, while addressing a joint press conference along with Minister for Art and Culture Dayanand Mandrekar and Tivim legislator Kiran Kandolkar.
“During the last two years, BJP undertook a lot of development and launched several social schemes for all sections of society. People are fully aware of the work done by BJP and there is not doubt that they will vote for our candidate, Shripad Naik,” Ticlo added.
“BJP is the most secular party and the minorities have full faith in the party. Congress party unnecessarily tries to create fear among minorities that if Modi becomes the prime minister, he will make the lives of minorities miserable. People have now become wiser and will definitely vote and elect both BJP candidates in Goa,” said Ticlo.
Mandrekar said BJP had successfully completed its poll campaign in Bardez taluka.
“On the basis of response we received from public, Shripad Naik will secure a lead of 35,000 to 40,000 in the taluka. These estimates are based on the assumption that there will be about 70 per cent voting in Bardez taluka and Naik will get lead in all constituencies of Bardez taluka, including Calangute,” said Mandrekar.
Kandolkar, Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Sandeep Falari, Mapusa councillor Sudhir Kandolker, Mapusa BJP Mandal Chief Rohan Kavlekar and Rajsing Rane were present for the news conference.
