PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress voiced strong discontent on Tuesday against the ruling government’s handling of sound pollution at Anjuna, accusing the authorities of failing to enforce law and order. They said police are the main culprits.
Leader of Opposition, Yuri Alemao, condemned the reckless sale of land and the destruction of the hinterland under the guise of promoting tourism. The media needs to expose those involved in changing of zones and conversion and selling of land, he said.
GPCC President Amit Patkar for a clear cut policy on music. He also blamed the police as culprits for not taking action against the violators.
Meanwhile, Olencio Simoes urged the Home Ministry to take precautionary measures to strengthen the coastal security of the state. He alleged that the coastal security in Goa has collapsed.
