CRORES SPENT GARAGE PROJECT IN CURCHOREM LEFT UNUSED FOR 15 YEARS

A garage project built at a cost of several crores in Cacora, Curchorem has remained unused for nearly 15 years, raising serious concerns over public expenditure. The facility was originally planned to shift multiple garages from Shivaji Chowk to a single, organised location. However, the project was never completed or made functional, leaving the investment largely wasted.

Over time, the structure has deteriorated significantly. Doors and sanitary fittings are missing, while the surrounding area has been overtaken by dense vegetation. The neglected condition reflects years of inaction and lack of maintenance. Residents and observers have questioned the delay, urging authorities to take responsibility and either revive the project or repurpose the space for public use.
