The Goa Crime Branch has registered a fifth FIR in connection with the ongoing Curchorem obscene video case, further intensifying the investigation.
According to police sources, the latest case has been filed against a 20-year-old resident of South Goa over allegations of sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman. Investigators suspect that the incident was recorded on a mobile phone and later circulated, raising serious concerns over digital misuse.
The offence has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Officials indicated that more cases could be added as the probe progresses, suggesting the possibility of a wider network or multiple incidents linked to the case.
The accused had earlier been arrested by Curchorem Police Station, where several cases had already been registered in connection with the matter. Further investigation is currently underway.
