PONDA: Following complaints from the locals, Curti-Khandepar Panchayat has issued site inspection notice to one private company at Curti for carrying out illegal excavation of Curti-Chirputem road. The inspection will be held on December 16, to verify the facts.

The locals in the first week of December had complained to the panchayat about the illegal excavation work going on the Curti-Chirputem road with the intention to make the road wider for doing construction activity.
The locals had alleged that the said road constructed originally by PWD has many potholes because of sewerage chambers work, but till date no repairs were carried out which was causing trouble to the locals and to add to the problem the illegal excavation of road was done. The locals feared that they would lose forest trees and hills, which is catchment area for rain water harvesting.
