PANJIM: Two houses were completely damaged and 424 houses suffered partial damage in the North Goa District due to gusty winds and heavy rains caused by Cyclone Tauktae, on Sunday.

North Goa Collector Ajit Roy said that the assessment of damage caused by the cyclone is still going on in the North Goa District and will be completed within next two to three days.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Thursday asked cyclone-affected States to restore telecom, power, roads, water supply and other infrastructure by the concerned agencies and to complete them expeditiously.
The Central Ministries and agencies would work in close coordination with States and UTs to provide all required assistance expeditiously, said Gauba, who is also the chairman of National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC).
Gauba reviewed relief and restoration efforts in aftermath of cyclonic storm Tauktae.
The Chief Secretaries of States and advisors to administrators of Union Territories apprised the Committee of the damage to infrastructure, crops as well as loss of life in the affected areas and the measures taken by them to restore telecom, power, roads, water supply and other utilities.
