Damu hindrance to development: Sardesai

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Vijai Sardesai has said that Fatorda MLA Damu Naik’s obsession with hogging credit for starting development works is the main cause for the suspension of the work of desilting of Maddel Nullah within days of its commencement.
He said that after the drubbing that the Fatorda MLA’s candidates got in the just concluded Municipal polls, the MLA has developed a justifiable sense of insecurity which resulted in his ongoing campaign to break coconuts anywhere and everywhere to hog undue credit for development underway in Fatorda constituency.
The GPCC general secretary said that in the instant case the Water Resources Department was either misguided to make hasty estimates or begin work without proper study and preparation which eventually caused the unfortunate suspension of work within days of its commencement.
He said that he would invite the Chief Minister Shri Digamber Kamat to visit the site at the earliest so that not only this work recommences but the hitherto neglected sections of Maddel are given due attention by the authorities.
