PANJIM: The Monsoon Session of the State Legislative Assembly could be held from July end or from the first week of August, Speaker Rajesh Patnekar said on Thursday.
Patnekar said the decision on the conduct of the session will be held by June 15 and the recommendation will be sent to Governor for summoning.
“No decision on Monsoon Session dates is taken so far. But mostly it will be in the last week of July or the first week of August. It will be decided by June 15,” he said.
The five-day Budget session of the State Assembly was held in February.
Patnekar said that the session will be conducted following all the guidelines as per directions of the Central Government. Goa has reported sudden spike in number of COVID cases in last two-three days, with 47 cases being reported on a single day on Wednesday.
Further, Speaker said that the State borders should be sealed to control the rising number cases in the State.
“Borders which have already been sealed should remain so and checking should be thorough. We need to be very careful and vigilant,” he said.
