MARGAO: A week after his induction in the Parsekar Cabinet, Goa Vikas Party supremo Mickky Pacheco on Sunday was categorical in saying that he had never demanded the RDA portfolio from his Cabinet colleague Avertano Furtado making it clear that he has accepted whatever portfolios allocated to him by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
“I had never demanded with chief minister for the RDA portfolio held by Avertano in the Parrikar government. For that matter, I did not stake claim on the two portfolios of Archives and Archaeology. I have accepted whatever portfolios that have been allocated to me by the chief minister,” Mickky said when asked whether he had staked claim on the RDA portfolio.
Asked whether he is satisfied with the three portfolios of RDA, Archives and Archaeology allotted to him since he is a senior minister, given that he is being sworn in as a minister for the fourth time in a decade long stint in politics, Mickky shot back “Mickky does not run after time. Mickky waits for time for everything. Even though the GVP with two MLAs had offered support to the BJP-led government after the 2012 Assembly poll, I have been inducted in the Cabinet after two years and half”.
When it was pointed out to him that the three portfolios allotted to him are considered “insignificant” in political circles, Mickky said “they may not be the much sought after prized portfolios, but Mickky have the capability to turn iron into gold.“
