PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will launch the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), North Goa marketing website on August 15.
“The website will be operated by the DRDA through GSRLM State Mission Manager,” said DRDA in a statement issued, on Friday.
“This website will provide the platform for 38,500 Self Help Group (SHG) members to showcase their products and connect them with the sellers from all over Goa in particular India in general. The buyer will contact the concerned SHG members for the delivery and payment. Hence, the website will not have any payment gateway or any kind of cash transactions through the department,” the DRDA added.
“The vision of the department through this website and other likewise activities is to improve the income of the SHG women to at least Rs 10,000 per month for each member connected with this mission,” said the DRDA.
“A maximum amount of Rs 40,000 is being released under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Schemes (PMFME) to each beneficiary. In May 2021, a total amount of Rs 27.50 lakh was disbursed under PMFME to 103 beneficiaries,” the DRDA concluded.
