Education department to launch courses

PANJIM: The Education department will launch National Skill Qualification Framework Courses for students which will enable them to go to a higher class even if they fail in one subject. The courses to be implemented in a phase-wise manner from Thursday will be for classes IX to XII.

The course, under Rashtra Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, gives the students an added advantage to get promoted to a higher class even if they fail in one subject. It will also enable students to choose a skill-related subject in addition to the existing subjects in the curriculum.
“The course is being launched on Thursday but we will implement this in the next few weeks. The implementation will begin with class IX followed by the three other classes, phase-wise,” an education official said.
The department has chosen 40 teachers for the training and appointment of other teachers is underway.
