VASCO: Former AAP leader Elvis Gomes, Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida and former councillors backed Municipality workers and urged Urban Development minister to consider the plea of the municipality workers and fulfill their demands and release their salaries. Elvis met Mormugao municipality workers and employees who are on strike since past five days over the nonpayment of their salaries. Elvis Gomes recalling his days as Chief Officer in MMC, said that a monthly salary to a worker is his and her fundamental right and nobody can take it away. Meanwhile the Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida has expressed worry of vector borne epidemic spread due to pilling of waste garbage. Alemida on behalf of the people of Vasco has requested Urban Development minister to resolve the issue of the workers and municipal employees and clear the garbage as soon as possible.
