VALPOI: Sattari Excise Office has begun the process of issuing notices to establishments which have not renewed their licenses. As per the sources, around 40 shops have not renewed their licenses and may face action from the authorities concerned, if they do not carry out the required formalities.
There are over 200 excise license holders in Sattari, out of which 40 have not renewed their licenses. This is leading to loss in revenue for the government.
The process to issue the notices commenced around a week ago and will be concluded in the next four days. “The shopkeepers will be given a specific deadline to carry out the formalities. If they do not renew their licences within the time frame then it’s highly likely that their licenses will be cancelled,” said Sattari Excise Inspector Hanmantrao Desai.
