CUNCOLIM: A huge unnoticed medical waste dumped by unknown miscreants at the stone quarry Poitomado, Cuncolim, was brought to light by a farmer while grazing his cattle, on Tuesday.
Soon, the local councillor Udesh Gaonkar called the Cuncolim Municipal Council officers and the police to inspect the site and take necessary action against those who had dumped this medical waste.
Gaonkar informed the media persons that the waste which was dumped at Poitomado is from some private hospitals. Besides, medical waste, decomposed human organs were also dumped.
Cuncolim Police have registered a complaint against unknown miscreants and the Cuncolim Municipal Council has also taken the note of the same. Some months back same type of medical waste was dumped illegally at IDC. Locals have demanded for a strict vigil on these incidents.
