Fatorda roads: Plaint filed in Vigilance Dept

MARGAO: In an interesting development pertaining to high voltage drama of blocking the roads by supporters of Goa Forward Party at Fatorda as a protest against stopping the development works by the government which were already commenced, now it has been revealed that a complaint had been filed with the Vigilance Department alleging duplications of works.

Croydon Medeira, a resident of Margao, had filed a complaint with the Vigilance Department in mid-November. He had even urged to put a stop to what at this point appears to be corruption as well as a possible politician, engineer and contractor nexus.

Speaking to the media persons on Friday, Croydon said, “If on a complaint to Vigilance Department any development work or for that matter any government projects are stopped then it means there is substance in what is being said.”

“Concrete proof in the form of visuals was given and it was not a complaint just to obstruct any progress as is alleged. The Vigilance Department doesn’t just go about investigating everything and anything just because there is a complaint unless there is merit in it,” he stated.

“I have absolutely no problem with development work done by anyone including the Fatorda MLA, but development work should be done legally and where it is needed.”
