CUNCOLIM: Pursuant to a complaint filed by the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) against a fish meal plant in Cuncolim, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) has issued summons to M/s Quality Exports.
The matter was in connection to the charges of violations under of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
It may be recalled that in October 2015, GSPCB had issued notices to the fish meal plant following an inspection carried out at the unit. Among the directions issued, the GSPCB had asked the fish meal plant to stop washing their trucks along the internal roads and outside the unit premises within the Cuncolim IDC and to stop discharge of wastewater outside the premises.
