MARGAO: Veteran freedom fighter and social worker Madhukar Yeshwant Morderkar passed away early Monday morning. He was 94 and is survived by two sons and three daughters.
His son Vinayak said that Madhukar was not keeping in good health for some time and he breathed his last Monday morning. As per Mordekar’s wish, his eyes were donated to an eye bank and his body to the Goa Medical College and hospital, Bambolim.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar condoled the death of freedom fighter, Social worker and a yoga teacher Madukar Mordekar.
The chief minister praised late Mordekar’s share in service-oriented activities during the freedom struggle and afterwards. Late Mordekar participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942 at Belgaum.
