On Wednesday at around 10.30 am, Subhash P Mainkar had gone to market when some unknown culprits entered the house from the rear door and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh.
The police have registered a case under Section 454, 380 of IPC. PSI Pritesh Madgaonkar is investigating the case.
Meanwhile, in another incident two persons were injured when a truck hit their scooter at Karapur in Sanquelim. The truck was plying from Bicholim to Belgaum and on reaching Karapur it hit a car and later hit two scooters. Scooter riders Ulhas Sawant from Sal and Dattaram Naik were injured in the incident. Bicholim police is investigating the case.
