Gov, CM extend I-Day greetings

PANAJI: The Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo and the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar have extended greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of our country's independence.

PANAJI: The Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo and the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar have extended greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of our country’s independence.
In his message the Governor said Independence Day is a unique occasion of national significance. He said in Goa issues like stoppage of mining, crimes against women and children need to be addressed immediately. He said Independence Day is an appropriate occasion to forget our differences and develop a broad-minded outlook. 
The chief minister in his message conveyed his best wishes saying it is but natural to remember our freedom fighters on this occasion. ‘The freedom that we enjoy today is the result of relentless struggle of many people who gave up their lives Let us, resolve to live up to their expectations.’
