MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai slammed the government on the mishandling of the Chowgule admission imbroglio, saying the Chowgule issue is an example of the lack of direction and the misadministration of the government.
“The populist action of the CM to visit the college bypassing all protocol is just a charade to fool students into believing that he cares. Actually, he slept over the issue for the last one year and has woken up only now, at the eleventh hour. His attitude of pandering to the wishes of the Chowgule management, which included a secret luncheon meeting at the residence of a Margao BJP leader with Umaji Chowgule, has now led the college management calling the shots at the expense of the interests of students. It is a mystery why the CM took with him the ex-MLA of Fatorda, who has suddenly, just a couple of days ago, become a leader of the agitation supporting the government take over of the college,” he said, adding that its now for the Chief Minister to rise above all political considerations and fulfill the assurances made on the floor of the House.
