The last date for receipt of application by the University is December 31, 2015. The recruitment will be done for a period of two years and extendable to five years.
“The advertisement invites applications from across the country. Recruitment is a lengthy process because of which advertisement for a post is issued much prior to its completion,” the source said.
GU Registrar V P Kamat’s tenure ends in April 2016 and he is set to return to his parent department once the institution appoints his successor next year.
Prior to assuming the charge as Registrar in 2011, Kamat served as Professor of Organic Chemistry in the University’s Chemistry department. Since then he has been on leave without pay from the position till his term ends on April 11, 2016.
“Once GU recruits his successor, Kamat will return to his parent department. He is currently substituted by a contractual professor, whose tenure ends once he takes over,” a source told Herald.
