Guard foils ATM robbery

PANJIM: A 27-year-old security guard, attached to ATM centre of Bank of Maharashtra, foiled an attempt of robbery at the centre, located in the heart of Panjim city, on the night of October 26.

PANJIM: A 27-year-old security guard, attached to ATM centre of Bank of Maharashtra, foiled an attempt of robbery at the centre, located in the heart of Panjim city, on the night of October 26. 
Ranu Singh, the security guard and the complainant was brutally attacked during the attempted robbery. Panjim police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against two unknown accused.
As per the complaint, on the intervening night of October 26, between 1.05 am and 1.30 am two unknown persons entered the ATM centre of Bank of Maharashtra, located opposite the Department of Printing and Stationery, in the city.
“The accused assaulted the complainant with a hammer to kill him while attempting to commit robbery of the CDM and ATM machine,” police said. 
The security guard, a native of Madhya Pradesh, fought bravely with the accused and foiled the attempt. The accused later fled from the spot and are now on the run. 
An FIR has been registered under Sections 394, 307, 511, read with 34 of the IPC.
