CANACONA: Reiterating that he had to switch sides a year ago to develop his constituency, Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes on Sunday said he is satisfied that several developmental works have been implemented during past one year and many will see the light of the day soon.
Addressing a press conference to highlight his achievements during the last three years and three months and more so during the past one year as BJP legislator, Isidore expressed happiness over his decision to join the ruling BJP.

Replying to a question on his son submitting an allegedly fake certificate to get a job as Aval Karkun, the MLA said that he doesn’t know the complainant’s intention, but will give a befitting reply soon.
He said, “The said activist had also complained in the past that he is a Portuguese citizen and all of you know what happened to that case.”
“I don’t have any personal or political enmity with him and I am sure this time also he will not succeed in his ill designs, the matter is in court and sub judice after the court gives judgment I will give a befitting reply in my own style,” Fernandes said.
Fernandes thanked Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for giving utmost priority to the works in Canacona constituency.
The MLA reminded that his only agenda is development of Canacona and make Canacona a model constituency as far as water, electricity, roads, quality education and mobile connectivity is concerned and added that he is working tirelessly to fulfil the aspirations of his voters.
South Goa BJP vice president Mahesh Naik said The MLA is taking all the members of the BJP mandal as well as other party workers together and any issue brought to his notice gets quick attention.
