MAPUSA: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has adjourned the hearing in Sirsaim hill cutting and excavation case to April 29.
Goencho Avaaz had filed a PIL Write Petition to protect the natural environment of Sirsaim from illegal quarry and hill cutting operations being carried out in the middle of forest.
Advocate Carlos Alvares Ferreira filed the PIL on behalf of Capt Viriato Fernandes, Tukaram Parab, Roshan Mathias and Swapnesh Sherlekar.
The respondents have opposed the petition claiming that they have environment clearance and permission for mining minor minerals.
