HJS Files Complaint Against Ranveer Singh for Alleged Mockery of Sacred Daiva at IFFI

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has lodged a complaint against actor Ranveer Singh over remarks he allegedly made during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). According to the complaint, Singh is accused of imitating the divine form portrayed in Kantara – Chapter 1 and referring to Chamundi Daiva — a revered Kotitulu deity — as a “female ghost.”

HJS has claimed that the comments were disrespectful and hurt religious sentiments. The organisation has urged authorities to initiate an inquiry into the incident. Officials have yet to confirm whether a formal investigation has been launched.
