PORVORIM: Goa Assembly on Wednesday condoled the death of former Minister Harish Zantye and 11 other eminent personalities.

Speaker Rajesh Patnekar made obituary references of the demise of former Minister and ex-MP Harish Prabhu Zantye; former Union Minister Capt Satish Sharma; freedom fighters Shyamsundar Naik and F Y Prabhugaonkar; Diocesan priest and Dalgado Konkani Akademi vice president Fr Conceicao D’Silva; Jesuit priest and educationist Fr Vasco do Rego; parish priest Fr Antonio Cotta; renowned physician Dr.Jarnail Singh’ Lt General Christopher Barreto PVSM (Retd); eminent painter and Padma Bhushan awardee Laxman Pai; film actor Rajiv Kapoor and noted tiatrist Clara Correira Dias.
The Speaker assured Members that henceforth he will list death of former MLAs separately so as to allow them to pay rich tribute to their former colleagues separately.
Later, the House observed one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed souls.
